RFM is released under an open source license, the MIT license to be specific.  What does this mean?  According to Wikipedia  it is a permissive license, meaning that it permits reuse within proprietary software on the condition that the license is distributed with that software, and GPL-compatible, meaning that the GPL permits combination and redistribution with software that uses the MIT License. According to the Free Software Foundation

It also means that you can contribute to the project and patch your source code back to the guys at SixFriedRice.  According to their site, contributors to the project currently include:

  • Mufaddal Khumri helped architect Rfm in the most ruby-like way possible. He also contributed the outstanding error handling code and a comprehensive hierarchy of error classes.
  • Atsushi Matsuo was an early Rfm tester, and provided outstanding feedback, critical code fixes, and a lot of web exposure. We’re grateful for his support.
  • Jesse Antunes helped ensure that Rfm is stable and functional.

In the following few weeks we have a project where we are going to be able to test this and work with it.  I'll report back on how it goes.
